when love comes ‘round again like an old familiar friend it’s the spark that caught the poet’s mind and left it smolderin’ when love comes ‘round again it doesn’t ask to be let in need permission, or forgiveness or fair warning to begin when love comes ‘round again it can catch you off guard at the worst possible time and it knows no bounds and commits no crimes they say love conquers all trouble and strife and it quiets the panic one feels inside when love comes ‘round again like a long-lost fortune your eyes and mine froze in time for the longest moment when love comes ‘round again written in the motion of the stars that shine and palm read lines in a fate we’re followin’ when love comes ‘round again it can catch you off guard at the worst possible time and it knows no bounds and commits no crimes they say love conquers all trouble and strife and it quiets the panic one feels inside when love comes ‘round again

Make A Home 02:51
just tryin’ to make a home some peace within this world where we can hang our hats upon the wall drink our mornin’ coffee and hang on to our dreams build our best intentions no matter how it seems, seems, seems just tryin’ to make a home a shingle of our own a stove to warm our bodies by and a land to reap and sow a flame to light the darkness a candle burning dim a dance with every breath you’re breathin’ in the sword in on the table the shield is on the floor and the last few hours have settled all our qualms with more to come together over laughter over tears it’s enough to rein the horses against the tempest of these years just tryin’ to make a home some peace within this world where we can hang our hats upon the wall

you look back into the ages of all who came before though their story isn’t perfect could you really have done more all we really have is time and the lessons of the past as we pursue our futures do our failures truly last at this moment in your life have you tried the best you can there’s another day tomorrow to be a better man better man what is life if not a lesson what is time if not a gift have you found someone to listen when your heart just needs a lift if today is a beginning will you find a way to soar got a lifetime left for learnin’ what your life is really for at this moment in your life have you tried the best you can there’s another day tomorrow to be a better man better man

makin’ promises just will over time the decisions we make your word against mine makin’ promises by a trinket we bind a choice born to keep us in line what are promises to make them and why they make liars out of those not strong enough to find a means to remember a reason from the heart a testament we finish everything we start to see through to the end and claim no great reward the prize is in the going never doubt whatever for makin’ promises takes the wisdom of age a determination not to jump ahead the pages makin’ promises from a youthful desire to hold on to the coals after a fire makin’ promises an order so tall to make from a promise a gift greater than all pickin’ up the pieces left over from time what of the pieces we’re leavin’ behind a means to remember a reason from the heart a testament we finish everything we start to see through to the end and claim no great reward the prize is in the going never doubt whatever for

one who don’t walk on a hot summer eve can’t know about fireflies one who don’t deal with mysteries can’t know all that much about life one who don’t read between the lines won’t know just how far we have come one who don’t see the forest from trees won’t know just where they may run one who don’t climb up the highest hill can’t know the lay of the land one who don’t try at the hardest times can’t know how much they can stand one who don’t hold their head up high won’t know just what lies ahead one who don’t fall by the wayside won’t know much about choices one who don’t play at the difficult games can’t know about waiting around one who don’t stay in the wildest rain can’t know about drying out one who don’t wake for the morning light won’t see the early dawn one who don’t claim to know what’s right can’t be accused of wrong one who don’t wait for the darkness of night can’t know of stars in the sky and one who don’t walk on a hot summer eve can’t know about fireflies

it’s only a matter of time the future it spins like a dime heads you come clean, get on with things tails, there’s nowhere to hide and it’s only a matter of time not shackled by irons or chains or bound by a tyrant or king cut loose from the ground, what goes up must come down and ember gets free from the flame and it’s only a matter of time you can’t see the forest but for the trees and the guiltiest ones beneath the canopy have hidden the best of their lies and it’s only a matter of time the future ain’t yours to obtain have mercy on those who had claimed to discover the world, a necklace of pearls the verses of auld lang syne and it’s only a matter of time there’s always a price to be paid a balance between loss and gain x marks the land above shiftin’ sands an hour glass tipped on its side and it’s only a matter of time you can’t see the forest but for the trees and the guiltiest ones beneath the canopy have hidden the best of their lies and it’s only a matter of time and it’s only a matter of time

Reflecting 03:04
always sitting here reflecting like a pond mirrors the tree line and the sky the devils in the details and will only bring on trouble and strife spending hours wrestling with which side is a dream and which is life and even when the stillness of your vision has been shaken you’re pretty sure you know which side is right you can hold on to the feeling like a dim lighthouse light once there and gone, try as you might are you coming, are you going, with your head up in the clouds once you’ve spun in all directions, which side are you on now there’s a hundred ways to say it, that a hundred days could trickle down to three once a mighty roaring river, now a leaf floats down a barely flowing stream ain’t a hundred miles in the time it takes the brook to reach the sea and a hundred moons have risen in the time a love is born and then set free you could hold on to the feeling, like a dim lighthouse light once there and gone, try as you might are you coming, are you going, with your head up in the clouds once you’ve spun in all directions, which side are you on now

Hello Bill 03:54
hello Bill, when I pick up the banjo I remember each time you’d recall the tale while in the navy you learned to play guitar and recite your poem called New England Fall hello Bill played pedal steel in the Strongheart band could start on any finger just as Buddy Cage commanded he would practice every day from a three-decker landing a legend in his time even still right on Bill got pretty heavy in his glory days but the medication later made him thin and shaky he could only wag a finger at the Black Mtn. Rag and sing “doo bee doo bee doo bee doo bee doo hello Bill smoked little beedi cigarettes outside the diner and hung out at our local music store he even let us hang on to his 60’s Stratocaster for the kids to play a knock off Neil Young spent his final days in the V.A. home we sprung him out one time to hear us play a show he wasn’t steady on his feet and he talked kinda slow But the music made him smile that much I know a good time Bill had a simple service at St. Mary’s church his closest friends and family all had filed in first a cassette tape spun a take of Bill rehearsing and it echoes through the chapel even still so long Bill hello Bill, when I pick up the banjo I remember each time you’d recall the tale while in the navy you learned to play guitar and recite your poem called New England Fall hello Bill

there’s always a reason it arrives by no surprise though it seems that way sometimes even the seasons can sneak up from behind on this long day’s journey into night everything the future holds eventually unwinds and oh, the questions we’ve struggled just to find on this long day’s journey into night after all these trials just to say we’ve had enough seems like a fear of tryin’ when the goin’ gets tough like breezes blowin’ through the passing of these years the silent voices disappear with all the answers that no one got to hear on this long day’s journey into night after all these trials just to say we’ve had enough seems like a fear of tryin’ when the goin’ gets tough there’s always a reason it arrives by no surprise though it seems that way sometimes even the seasons can sneak up from behind on this long day’s journey into night on this long day’s journey into night
